The Anadarko Basin

The Anadarko Basin has been producing oil and gas for decades but has seen renewed development as operators apply horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing to formations like the Woodford, Meramec, Cherokee, and Red Fork. Companies such as Devon Energy, Continental Resources, and others continue to develop these formations. In particular, the Western Anadarko Basin has seen growing interest as new wells demonstrate the potential of horizontal development in historically productive formations.

About the Anadarko Basin

Horizontal development of the STACK area began in the Cana-Woodford in 2007, with activity in Logan and Payne counties to the east picking up several years later. In late 2013, operators discovered the opportunities of Meramec Formation and shifted their focus to the core areas in Kingfisher and Blaine County, and have been focusing on this area since.

This area is fully developed with oil and natural gas infrastructure and there is an established market for both crude oil and natural gas in this part of Oklahoma.

Anadarko Basin Highlights

The majority of the acreage in the STACK area has already been leased and a good deal of the acreage is held by production. For that reason we’re acquiring as much acreage as possible to ensure future exploration and developmental drilling opportunities.

  • 100% Developmental Drilling - No Wildcatting
  • Multiple Potential Pay Zones
